The hotel's location is excellent. Right next to Syntagma square, therefore walking distance to Syntagma tube station. Furthermore, all famous landmarks are within walking distance like the Museum of the Acropolis, the Parthenon, Monastiraki, Plaka, Thiseio, Ermou street (the most famous high street of Athens). The National Garden is right across the hotel, highly recommended for a stroll and then carry on down to Zapeion or even to the Panathinaikon stadium. Last but not least, the tram line passes right in front of the hotel, albeit slow it offers a nice opportunity to travel down to the southern suburbs of Athens, like Faliro and Glyfada (Athens riviera). The Greek Parliament is also situated down the road from the hotel, which means that this area is very safe! The hotel has an agreement with a car park on Xenofontos street right next to the hotel (there is an additional charge per day), which is very convenient if you are renting a car. The breaksfast was very good too, with a lot of choices.

The hotel is great value for the money. We got upgraded to a corner suite without even asking. THE highlight for us was breakfast. The variety and amount of food is the best I've had in Europe. And even if you arrive towards the end of the breakfast time, nothing ever "ran out", it was always stocked and warm. We ate enough to skip lunch ! Housekeeping always had the room made up by early afternoon (we stopped by the hotel every afternoon for a break from sightseeing, that's how accessible it is). The carpeting was cleaned daily and very comfortable to walk on. The bathroom fixtures are modern and great working condition (better than in my own home). You are definitely getting your money's worth for the price you pay. 10 out of 10 in all categories. I would stay here again for sure.

Stuff is really helpful, polite, pleasent, they resolved every problem that we had, especially with parking stuff in little street nearby because hotel has a contract with that parking so you can come by your own car. Breakfast was excellent, with variety of food, sweet and savory. Room itself is pretty decent size if we don't count small bathroom and closet. Location of this hotel is the greatest thing of all, because it is literally on Syntagma square and you can go anywhere by foot. Across the street are 2 kiosks that are open 24h. And when they open a roof top terrace after reconstruction that is ongoing, it would be one of the greatest places in town since the view is stunning on Acropolis, Syntagma square and Lycabettus hill (stuff took us there just to take a peek 🙂 ).

The hotel was wonderful. The room was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The view from our room was amazing. It overlooked the national park which was so nice and peaceful to walk through. The breakfast was great with a large variety to choose from. The location was incredible. Walking distance to most of the attractions and fantastic shopping. The staff were awesome and very helpful. When we arrived early our room was ready and they accommodated us with a late check-out. They couldn't have been more helpful. I highly recommend the Amalia Hotel and I would definitely stay there again if I return to the beautiful city of Athens.
